# MacGuard 1.0 (Build 6) Build 6 strengthens MacGuard's local protection and modernizes its macOS integration. - Replaces the script-based administrator prompt and localhost helper channel with a signed, macOS-managed Motion Helper and authenticated XPC connection. - Improves automatic Lock Screen confirmation and fallback behavior when arming with **Arm & Lock**. - Makes lid-close detection react near the calibrated open angle instead of waiting for a large closure. - Keeps opted-in Camera Evidence ready across the Lock Screen, records only after an alarm, and uses consistent mirror-style orientation for preview and captured evidence. - Adds a **Play siren sound** toggle so motion, lid, camera, and phone-alert behavior can be tested without local alarm audio. - Enables automatic update checks by default for new installations while keeping downloads and installation user-controlled. - Improves the menu-bar panel and protection selector for macOS 27 Dark Mode while keeping the same design in Light Mode. - Hardens local evidence deletion so it can remove only recognized incident videos inside MacGuard's own Evidence folder. MacGuard 1.0 (Build 6) requires macOS 14 or later and an Apple silicon MacBook. Sensor availability varies by model and is shown in the app after the Motion Helper is enabled.
